What does "hopepunk" mean?
Through the wilds of the internet, the term "hopepunk" has multiple meanings and definitions. Not only is hopepunk a subgenre of fiction, it also sets the stage for the movement and rebellion. Hopepunk actors are those "fighting for positive change, radical kindness, and communal responses to challenges." The creator of the term, Alexandra Rowland, expands on this as noted in this article as:
"Hopepunk says that genuinely and sincerely caring about something, anything, requires bravery and strength. Hopepunk isn’t ever about submission or acceptance: It’s about standing up and fighting for what you believe in. It’s about standing up for other people.
